
Getting Started
Your journey into yoga or dance can start with these few things…
Yin or Power Yoga
Attire: Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Soft movable clothes. Wearing anything made of cotton or natural fibers is always a good choice.
2 yoga blocks or two large books
a yoga mat
a pillow or bolster (needed for yin only)
a yoga strap or belt (a bathrobe belt tends to work well)
water
Belly Dance
Attire: Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Soft movable clothes. Wearing anything made of cotton or natural fibers is always a good choice. It is never a requirement to show your belly during class. If you feel comfortable doing so, I welcome it, but if not, that is 100% alright. I welcome both.

Even if you don’t have the items above, you can still have successful practices. Create substitutions and adapt as needed (with the exception of water!) If you have to create substitutions, that’s OK! Allow yourself to have an infant mind. Everything is a new opportunity to learn. Just go with the flow!
